When doing inventory it would be great to be able to do it by room. Could we have a tag to apply to items to set their location? While Breww does have location it seems to be more about different physical sites. For example in Cold Store C i might keep all the Cryo hops, finings, Shive and Keystone (yes in a cold store don’t ask) and packet yeast. It would expediate inventory if we could do it by location instead of searching about for these items.

Can I check that you are referring to Breww’s stock take system?
If I’ve understood you correctly, Breww already has this. “Sites” refer to warehouses and “Locations” are the subdivision of this. See this excerpt from our Glossary.
Or do you still need a further sub-division of Locations? If not, am I right in my understanding that this is essentially a request for completing a stock take by Location rather than by Site as is done currently? Thank you.

Ok I see I think we had Site and Locations confused. So when generating an inventory reciept we have to select the Location. If the PO has items for multiple locations then we need multiple inventory reciepts, one for each Location.

At the moment, when you receive an inventory receipt into stock, you choose which Site it should be receipted into. Each Site has a Location marked as the “Default for inventory receipt” (which is set in the Site’s settings), and this Location is where all stock from the inventory receipt will be received into.
Is your request to allow setting the target location for each line on the inventory receipt so that the stock can be immediately received into the right location, rather than going into the default location and needing to be moved after?
I’m just trying to be clear on what is being requested to ensure we don’t waste time building a feature that doesn’t do what you need. Thank you.
