Hi,
How does manually reducing / increasing stock work for brewery output calculations?
If we manually increase the stock level or the product was lost due to spoilage, does that quantify for the brewery output estimates? affecting next year SPR Duty rates and Breww license price?
Thanks
Hi Hector, Thanks for reaching out! When performing stock adjustments to bring in stock, this will add to your production totals, and when stock is reduced, this will make entries onto your lost and spoiled records. Increases in stock through stock adjustments will be included in Breww suggested ‘actual alcohol production volume’ total for the previous year; however, you can use the ‘Total packaged report’ to get this figure without stock adjustments included. As stock adjustments add to your production totals, this will also be considered for your Breww subscription plan. Cheers!
Hello Ben,
So let me see if I got this right: Any increases in stock through stock adjustments is added to the production totals hence impacting the cost of the subscription, but a stock decrease is just marked as “spoiled or lost”?
Would this be the same if we add / reduce stock through a stock take?
What would be the best way to correct if a mistake is made using the stock take or the “stock adjustment” feature?
Thanks
Hi Hector, thanks for your reply. Yes, that’s right; if you tell Breww that more stock has been produced, then Breww will add this to your production totals. If you need to decrease stock, as an error was made when packaging stock, then the racking action can be reversed, which will decrease the stock produced; please see our How do I undo or correct a mistake made on a batch? help guide. If you have marked stock that has been produced as lost or spoiled, then this won’t decrease the amount produced. The same concept applies when adjusting stock through a stock take (this essentially works the same way as a stock adjustment).
Apologies—just to clarify, regarding your last question, are you asking what tool is best to correct a mistake, stock takes, or a stock adjustment? The best way to correct a mistake made on a batch would be to reverse the batch actions. If you cannot reverse these, for example, because duty entries have been made, then you would need to use the stock adjustment or stock take tool. This should only be used for minor adjustments where batch actions cannot be reversed. If you have any more questions then let me know. Cheers!
