Is it possible to recieve off site packaging as a stock item? We currently brew a kombucha stock and internally send it off for off site packaging and then manually input it as a stock item so that we can use it in our final recipes.
We used to transfer between vessels to get around this but it was more useful to have the kombucha as an ingredient in the recipes as the quantities would vary between drinks and thus having it as a stock item makes more sense for us.

I think we can only receive products from 3rd party packagings?
The only way I ever thought of to convert product to stock item was to sell it to ourselves, then bring it in via inventory receipt.
Maybe there is a better way?
Hi Sam, Thanks for your comment! Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to receive a stock item from offsite packaging, and there isn’t the ability to convert ‘product’ stock into ‘stock item’ stock. There may be ‘manual’ workarounds to handle this, to decrease the kombucha produced and increase the stock item stock. @jon-kyme2’s workaround suggestion could allow for the depletion of product stock that is packaged by the third-party packager; perhaps this could be ‘sold’ to the third-party packager at zero-value to account for the sending of the batch rather than use the ‘in-built’ third party packaging tool. You could then choose to receive this by receipting stock as a stock item. If you would like to see a dedicated feature for this in Breww, it would be great if you could raise this as a feature request. Cheers!
