Would it be possible to add a global setting so that confirmed orders, beyond a set time horizon (days) do not impact the quantity available of a product?
We routinely pre-sell specials and seasonal beers up to 6 months in advance, which skew our available product counts as all orders forward in time are included. For our Sellar and EeBria integrations, this also removes the available stock from being shown as in-stock on those platform.
We don’t include draft orders in product quantity allocated to orders, so the sales team could keep all forthcoming orders as drafts, however, a blanket 30 or 60 day window would be more convenient and less prone to the team forgetting to set orders back to confirmed prior to the ship date, and especially remembering to do so before the production horizon.

The planned packaging functionality is good, and could work for us. The only downside I foresee is that it requires the production schedule leading up to the order(s) to be added in order to work.
For large orders (supermarkets, festivals, etc) we would need to plan in a dozen or more batches before the functionality would add sufficient stock to the system, and would need to do so for all large orders. Whereas, I feel, a horizon set-point would be quick way to ignore orders in the far future entirely.
This isn’t make or break. For most of the day-to-day orders the updated planned packaging functionality is sufficient.
