BBE Changes Should Not Retroactively Update Already-Dispatched Orders

Hi there

Background / Problem: When a BBE (Best Before End) date is changed on a batch (via Production tab → Actions → Change Whole Batch BBE), the change is currently being applied retroactively to orders that have already been dispatched. This creates a traceability concern, as customers received invoices showing the original BBE date, but the system now reflects the updated BBE on those completed orders.

What we’d like: We’d like BBE changes to only apply to future/unfulfilled orders, and not retroactively update orders that have already been dispatched.

Why this matters:

  • Traceability – Dispatched orders should be a true historical record of what was sent to the customer, including the BBE at the time of dispatch.

  • Invoice accuracy – Customers received invoices with the original BBE date. If the system retroactively updates this, the invoice no longer matches the system record.

  • Compliance – In regulated industries like brewing, maintaining accurate records of what was dispatched and when is essential for recalls and audits.

Suggested behaviour:

  • When a BBE is changed on a batch, only apply the change to orders that have not yet been dispatched.

  • Already-dispatched orders should retain the BBE date that was recorded at the time of dispatch.

Thanks for submitting this, Sylwia, but this looks like a duplicate of your previous request: Option to Change BBE for Remaining Stock Only (Without Backdating Shipped Products)

I’m closing this as a duplicate. Can anyone who has voted for this and not the original thread make sure to give the original a vote? Thank you.
