It would be very useful from a traceability point of view that when we receive goods back from a 3rd party packager we can indicate any additional batch codes the packager might have applied at that point, as well as update or confirm the automatically generated best before.
The BBE applied is just MM/YYYY rather than exactly 12month from date of packaging, and it’s a hassle to go into the packaged products to then update the best before codes individually.
The batch they apply is a julian date + brite tank and depends on the day they’ve packaged (some runs are split over two days), it would then link back to the gyle(s) and ingredients on Breww. At the moment we are managing this with a separate spreadsheet which is not super convenient.
