Hi does anyone know how I can split a keg after I’ve already racked it into a package container on Breww? I’ve got one half bbl that I need to split into sixstels to sell to two different entities
Hi Morgan, Thanks for your comment, and welcome to the community! You can rack from one packaged container into another by heading to Containers → Actions & tools → Rack from containers. I hope this helps, but let me know if you need anything else. Cheers!
This helps but then I can’t split a full 3 sixstels because I get the error: " * You are attempting to rack a total of 15.51 gal, but there is only 15.5 gal available to rack from the chosen container(s)."
What do I do about this 0.01 that I’m off?
Hi Morgan, Thanks for your reply. It sounds like Breww thinks there isn’t enough liquid to rack your full three sixtels. What volume is your sixtel container type set as in Breww? You can check this by heading to Containers and selecting to view the container type on the bottom right of the page. If you could let me know what this is and whether it looks set correctly or not, I will be able to investigate this further for you. Cheers.
Hi Ben, thanks for all the help.
So my halves are set to 15.5 and the sixstels are set to 5.17 so when I go to split them it’s a total of 15.51 gal with the 3 sixstels and not 15.50 like a half.
Thanks, Morgan. Breww has a tolerance for rounding issues like this, but it was designed with a Sixtel being 5.1667 gal in mind, but you’ve rounded the volume to two decimal places. (This was born out of this previous discussion if you’re interested.)
We have now tweaked the calculation of the “allowed missing volume” to be more intelligent, and you should find that with three Sixtels at 5.17 gal and a half at 15.5, you can complete the racking now without this error message.
Please let us know if you still have any trouble with this, but you should be all good!
It’s still giving me that same error message
Could you please raise a support ticket (to grant us account access) and confirm in there exactly which keg(s) you’re racking from and what you’re racking into, and we can look into this for you? Cheers.
