Minor issue, workaround exits but is complicated for an issue that should be very simple to solve programmatically.
Background: After applying new container labels to track product in Breww, product requires ‘repackaging’ from default containers to tracked containers. This is purely a software exercise to update the data set in Breww.
The last step in repackaging is where to enter Stock Items Used. As nothing physically occurred, we did not use any stock items however the program insists we use a non-zero quantity of stock items.
The workaround would appear to be to go to the product and eliminate the stock items used when packaging the product, perform the repackaging and then re-setup the stock items used with the product.
It seems that programmatically, it would be very simple to say that quantities used of a Stock Item in repackaging could be zero or greater instead of non-zero.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Ian, but I must admit that I cannot reproduce the issue you’re describing. I can skip the “Stock items used” step in the “Packaging from containers” tool without being forced to enter stock item quantities (assuming I’ve understood you correctly, and this is where you’re being held up).
Could you please attach a screenshot of the page you’re on, along with the validation/error message you see, so we can investigate further? Thank you.
Also, not sure why but seemingly all our 2,500 keg caps go used up - I will look into that (maybe it was using packs) but the interesting point is that when there were no caps appearing to be available, the software did not care about a ‘blank’ stock item. It means the simple workaround might be a ‘null’ stock item that the user could select if the zero-entry causes problems. Cheers.
Thanks, Ian. You should just need to use the red delete button to the right of the line to remove the line completely.
The validation is such that all lines must be greater than 0, unless the line is removed using the delete button. We will add an extra sentence to the validation message explaining that if you don’t want any, you should use this button rather than submit 0.
