Hello.
As per your support team’s request, I am posting a few little quibbles with your current Quickbooks integration interface here that I would like for you to fix. I had to wait for the rage-induced red haze that was blocking my vision to clear so I could type them out in a more calm manner.
- We have a large chart of accounts and many customers and vendors. When we initially linked up Quickbooks, Breww thoughtfully imported ALL of our chart of accounts and now I have almost 1,000 accounts imported into Breww which makes it very difficult to select the accounts we need to link to Breww functions. I suggest you don’t import any and perhaps guide people through selecting the few accounts they will need to import (or just using the current download function)
- While you are at it, please make an easier way to delete groups of imported accounts. Scrolling through them and deleting one at a time, delightful.
- Apparently you can accidentally delete an account from the accounting integration that is actively used by Breww without an error message.
- For customers and suppliers you are trying to link (we have over 2,000 suppliers in our system and a similar number of customers) there is no way to easily search or skip to the ones you care about. I just had to click through 45 pages to get to the "V"s I needed to fix. Assuming that one typically imports the customers and suppliers from a spreadsheet (according to your guide) rather than importing them from QB directly, how about listing the customers and suppliers in Breww, and then using the dropdown to link from QB rather than listing ALL of the customers and suppliers in QB and then linking them to Breww which feels backwards from a functional perspective.
- We need a way to identify missing supplier and customers links so we can fix them before we discover them (eventually) through duplicate creation in QB.
- In the debugging messages for sync, specifically for Invoices, Credit Notes, and Inventory Receipts, can you include the customer/supplier, amount, and reference number in the table? Also, making the Invoice, credit note, and receipt clickable links would make troubleshooting much quicker.
- For an invoice, credit memo, or inventory receipt that has already been synced to QB but needs to be edited, could you please enable a force-overwrite feature that will update the information in QB? It would be OK if you limit that feature to only working on items that are otherwise unpaid/unapplied, but when we find mistakes and fix them, a separate human has to go into QB and fix the problem to match what was fixed in Breww, which is just adding additional opportunity for mistakes and mismatches. Our brewery team is not in QB, only our finance team has to suffer through that system.
- You need a guide / recipe on how to handle all of the stupid things that customers do (or we do) that we have to deal with during this phase where credit memos, payments, and invoices are strewn across pre-Breww and post-Breww. I don’t know if your team has done a virtual “ride along” with a brewery that does self-distribution, but I can confirm we struggle with all sorts of edge conditions that really challenge our distribution team and make the leadership team’s life more difficult. More guidance would have been extremely productive.
I realize that most of these issues only affect the initial linkage/configuration of new customers. And perhaps we are a brewery with a longer and more complex history than many you are onboarding. However, we’re going on four weeks and still working through all of these finer points and the experience is negatively impacting what has otherwise been a pretty pleasant experience (ie, everything except the accountancy integration - see other tickets about payment applications, overpayments, dealing with pre-Breww credit memos, inability to close periods, etc.)
Thank you.
