It would be extremely helpful if Breww could indicate which Supplier Invoices have already been paid. If I were able to mark whether or not an invoice has been paid before it hits our accounting software, it would make tracking down matching expenses so much easier. Invoices that have already been paid could sync across as a “reciept” instead of the generic “supplier invoice.”
Thanks for the suggestion, Joshua. Would you not want to reconcile the payment from your bank feed to the supplier invoice in Quickbooks? Without looking into it in detail, I fear that implementing this would inhibit that workflow and mean you wouldn’t have somewhere to reconcile the bank transaction to.
We do currently reconcile QB bank feeds with the Breww Supplier invoices that sync over. This works flawlessly most of the time, with the occasional hiccup on our end by inputting the incorrect total when Invoices are finalized. The issue arises whenever I place a purchase that isn’t immediately paid. I create and finalize the supplier invoice once the items arrive, but aside from the “due date,” there is no way to signal to QB that the synced supplier invoice is outstanding. Essentially, I am trying to find a way to relay to our account manager that an invoice still needs to be paid, without having to externally let them know. I have been writing “Paid” in the private notes section, but i am not entirely sure if that shows on the QB side of things.
Ideally, we would be able to route outstanding invoices into QB with a notice attached that payment is still due. Essentially a “bill” instead of a “receipt”
We wouldn’t be able to implement a quick toggle as that would interfere with the whole payment reconciliation process in QuickBooks and cause you (or your accountants) more problems. The only way to solve this would be a full 2-way payment sync (like we do for invoices). This would, however, be a very large and complex feature, so it’s likely to be implemented any time soon, to be honest.
Going back to the root issue that you’re trying to solve, is it that sometimes your accounts team don’t pay invoices that they need to? Do you normally pay at the time of order, so on the occasions that you don’t, your accounts team don’t realise that they need to pay them?
