Differentiate between "Done with no ingredient used" on a brewsheet and "I've deliberately skipped this item"

This is now live :tada: Optional steps on the brew sheet can be marked as Deliberately skipped, which is recorded separately from being done, along with who skipped it and when. So it’s always clear whether a step was consciously skipped or just missed.

A skipped step:

  • no longer shows as the next step, or in the ingredients still to add, during fermentation
  • is left out of the pre-brew stock check, so it doesn’t affect your inventory
  • appears as “Deliberately skipped” in the brew sheet’s audit log

Steps can be marked as optional or required on the recipe, and a required step can’t be skipped. If you’d like to note why a step was skipped, the stage notes at the bottom of the brew sheet are still the place for that.

This came as part of our production tasks release. There’s more in Using your electronic brew sheet.
