can you please include a more detailed description of the “New Recipe Step” on the production front page (“Primary vessels”). There is an issue when you included a process step as a “custom reading”. This just shows as “take custom reading” but it is not clear what reading needs to be taken. This defeats the purpose of the overview screen if I have to click into the batch to check what reading it is I need to take and from where. I think the solution would be to include in this column also the note section of the readings so this should become clearer.
I appreciate that this takes up more space on the screen and might not be ideal for smaller screens anymore but there could be a space limit of for example 30 letters to resolve this issue. To save further space the packaging approval column could be depicted with solely a orange triangle (for approval required) and a green tick (for approved). Potentially the fermentation graphs could be left out to save some screen space but I can see why people would want this in there (also from an aesthetic point of view).
I agree this would be a great improvement. You’re right, however, that space is at a premium here. We see what we can come up with. Please do make sure to vote for your own requests and if anyone else would like to see this, please vote too
I think my suggestion is best placed here (rather than starting a new topic)?
The ‘Next Recipe Step’ is really good, but the other day one of my brewers forgot/missed a custom/temperature check.
This will still show as the next step, as it hasn’t been entered.
I can obviously enter a valve for what I suspect it would have been, but as far as using past brew sheets as a point of reference, I would rather know this was missed rather than guessed/assumed. If I put in a number that (is probably correct), but I’m not 100%, it doesn’t really help if trying to tweak or improve in the future.
I’m guessing people will tell me to just ‘add a note’, but there could be an event, when the next (potentially crucial) step is missed.
Maybe I’m being picky. Don’t know what people think.
Yea I’d love them to be more detailed. Maybe if they included what stage in the recipe they were at? If it was fermenting, or sparge etc? Or where it currently details ‘Take note’ to include the option to include the text associated with that instruction.
Would also be cool to have like a ‘jump to step’ link. So you click that recipe step as it appears on the dashboard, then that links you to the section on the ‘brewing’ page
This would brilliant. Really surprised the idea hasn’t grained more traction and votes. Especially when my next recipe step says ‘take pH reading’ or ‘take temperature reading’ which can be at multiple different stages of the brew process.
The main source of ambiguous “Next step” descriptions was the readings that had to be taken. As part of a major update to recipe/brewsheet “Take reading” actions today, the name of the reading’s “Input variable” will now show as the next step, which should make them much more descriptive. This changes something like “Take pH reading” to “Mash pH”.
And part of today’s big update, Input variables are now required on all reading actions, which will help ensure that all readings have a helpful title for the next step and ensure you can produce helpful reports on all readings taken.
