Hi all, I’ve got some small changes to the way “Create New Batch” works that would make for a much more user friendly experience:
-Tag a brewing system as “default” so when creating a new batch the “brewing system” field is auto populated in the drop down.
-When creating a new batch and selecting the recipe, breww should auto populate the “planned volume” field to reflect that recipe’s default volume. User should be able to modify if needed.
-User modification of the number of Turns should trigger Breww to multiply the planned volume by # that corresponding of turns.
I’ve also outlined a few Recipe and Brew sheet level features that would be really useful for us:
-A variable ingredient addition that can be both tracked (for inventory) and has a “reporting tag” so it can be viewed in the analysis tab for comparing against previous batches. Useful for mash acid additions that would be added based upon mash pH readings and may entail multiple additions throughout the mash.
-Creation of “Fermentation and Conditioning Profiles” feature that allows the creation of multiple fermentation profiles and allow different recipes to reference one fermentation / post fermentation profile. Thus updating the fermentation profile would save lots of time by not having to edit multiple recipes.
-A logic based option to the “edit timing” of recipe stage actions or in “fermentation/conditioning profile” stages as defined above. This could be a simple If X condition has been met, move to next production phase and/or prompt user to perform Y action.
The list of conditions could be things like:
a set temperature has been reached
a user definable gravity reading has been reached
a gravity reading marked as “terminal” has been recorded
a gravity reading above X value
a gravity reading below X value
VKD test results below X value
DO readings above or below X value
Triggered Actions could be:
change temperature
harvest yeast
perform ingredient addition
carbonate batch
Transfer batch
Mark Batch to “hold for further testing” or “destruction"
