Delivery Bar codes included on invoices = less paperwork & less steps in the process & less costs

Firstly, I am all about efficiency, and we are structuring our company to be as automated as possible, operating with minimal people, this idea is to allow us to be enable to be more profitable and operate in leaner times where other may not be able to so I believe that If we could have the delivery code printed on the invoice, we would not need to print a Delivery docket, then the invoice and then pick stock to do a Cash on delivery sale.
Which is a requirement in Oregon USA, nice for us as it helps reduce your exposure to bad Debtors, but the current work flow in Breww is

  1. Printing a Delivery/pick ticket, then
  2. Scanning the bar code so you can assign Kegs/furkins/corneys to the delivery
  3. Print Invoice
  4. Do the delivery

If we could get the invoice to have the ability to show the Delivery/pick ticket bar code all in one not only would we be saving paper and resources, we would be reducing labor and improve the workflow in to a smoother operations.

While this may not sound like a large savings, if your only doing 1 or 2 deliveries a day, but think how much this would improve your work flow if your delivering possibly 10 to 20 a day?

In essence, the number of steps and documents we can reduce/combine in the work flow from Order placement to delivery & payment, the better the syste, the lower the operational costs and the less people/employee our demands are, particularly when we grow and are doing 1000 bbl per year or more.

Just going to put in an additional idea here as well which is putting the “picking” QR code on the delivery note. We don’t supply paper invoices when delivering, just a delivery note and then the invoice gets emailed. We don’t really need to print a manifest and the only reason we do is for the QR code so if we could have those QR codes on the delivery notes as well then just cuts down on more things to print

Great idea, like you we are trying to reduce the number of steps we need to do in order to do our work, and also the only reason we print as well is just as you do. I wish there was a way to do it all via a tablet/phone so we could be paperless.

Thanks everyone; this would be a great improvement. Please can everyone who’d like to see this, give it a vote as we use this as an important factor in our priorisation process and this thread currently has zero votes :wink:

For a completely paperless solution, have you seen our mobile app picking process?
