Allocate stock when order is confirmed not drafted

Hi,
Currently draft orders reduce the theoretical amount of available stock, which is causing some items on our website to be ‘sold out’ despite having plenty in stock, and any draft orders not planned to be shipped for many weeks / months.

Would it be possible to adjust the workflow so that only confirmed orders reduce the theoretically available stock level, while draft orders don’t affect it?

Ooh, I dunno about that. I suspect some use draft orders to reserve / ringfence stock. In fact, I’m pretty sure our Sales elves do just that. You might be interested in this FR

A great addition would to resolve the following limitation: We currently have 100 cases of a beer in stock. We have a planned packaging scheduled next week for 400 cases of the same product. We have an order in for the week after that for 300 cases of the same product. This causes the product to show as being oversold by 200 cases NOW, and won’t let us add any to orders this week (or any time before the planned packaging next week), despite the fact the current availability is in fact 100 cases…

We do have a setting in Product settings to exclude draft orders entirely from counting.
