Yeast Cropping But Keeping the Same Batch

Hi!

Noticed when we’ve been cropping from a batch and pitching into tanks, it doesn’t always let us keep the same batch but change the generation.

For example;

If I have a batch of yeast (say batch 25) in FV1 at Gen 1.

I pitch some of this into FV2, to be Gen 2. This is then pitched again from FV1 into FV3 for Gen 2.

If FV3’s fermentation is for any reason slow or was slightly underpitched, I then crop yeast from FV2 (Gen.2) and add it to FV3, to top up the yeast.

These batches we both from the same batch of yeast, but firstly, gen.1 was pitched, then gen.2 second into the same tank. BREWW does not then offer the option to continue the same batch of yeast, but choose a later generation, it only lets you make a whole new batch of yeast.

When it comes to tracking geneology of yeast or when we’ve purchased and pitched new batches as opposed to the mixed gen new batches of the same batch of yeast, it gets quite tricky to keep track.

Could the feature be added, to allow for a later generation to be chosen and input, when combining two tanks of the same yeast batch, rather than making an entirely new batch everytime?

Thanks!
