Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to have a password based trade store login rather than automatically. I’ve had a few people not being able to log in and I wondered if it’s because you have to use the same device in order to do so? For example, it logs in automatically on my laptop but it doesn’t recognise me on my phone.
Is there something I’m missing? Thanks.
Hi Lee, Thanks for your comment, and welcome to the community! When customers are invited to the trade store, they will first create a Breww user account with a login and password. They will then be able to head to the Breww website and use these details to log in on a device. If logged in on a device, they will remain logged in, but can also sign out. If using a separate device, they will need to follow the login process again to gain access. I hope this helps, and let me know if you need anything else. Cheers!
Hi Ben,
Thanks for this.
I’ve just done a little demo and I’ve noticed that my customers are going straight for the ‘Request Trade Access’ button without signing up first and therefore bypassing the password stage but still gaining access to the store. This means that if they visit from another device, they’ll be back at the landing page with no way of logging in.
Is there a setting that forces the customer to sign up before requesting trade access?
Thanks.
Hi Lee, Thanks for your reply. If a customer has your trade store link, they can request access here and complete a form which includes their details. They can do this before they create an account with Breww; however, they will not have access to the trade store yet. If they request access, you will get a notification in Breww, and you will have the opportunity to either accept their request or decline it. Upon your confirmation, they will be sent an invite to access the trade store, which will allow them to create an account login and password.
It sounds like when testing this, you were signed into Breww. If you were to log out of Breww, as a customer would be if they had landed on this page, then you would not be able to accept the invitation to the trade store without first creating a Breww user account - a log in will need to be created to gain access to the trade store. You will be able to test this on your browser’s incognito mode; this should replicate what the customer would see, where you are not logged into Breww and account creation is required. Let me know if you need anything else. Cheers, Ben.
Hi Ben,
Was this ever resolved? We are having the same issue. I have logged out of breww on my laptop and gone to sign up for trade store access with a personal email. My colleague has then granted my access on his pc. I then receive the email asking me to verify my email address which I do.
Then the access granted email comes through allowing me to go straight to our trade store and view products and price… at no point have I been asked for a password yet. So if I then log out and go to log in, I have no password to log in, and have to ask for a password reset.
Seems like this would be confusing for our customers, we are trying to make their lives easier after all. Is there no way of sending a ‘Set Password’ type email at the same time as/instead of email verification? Or better yet just having them set a password while requesting trade store access?
Hi Thom, Thanks for your comment. It sounds like, at the point the link was selected, a user account was already logged in to Breww, which allowed the Accept invite button to be selected. If you head to the trade store and click the Account button in the top right, then select My account, and then Change user details, this should show which email address you’re currently logged in as on the trade store. When selecting the email link, provided the user is not logged into Breww, a page will be presented to create an account with a password. Let me know if you need anything else. Cheers, Ben.
