Tap Deposit - How to Set Up Product?

Hello.

For our retail customers, we will rent a tap for $0 with a $50 deposit. When they return it, we give them the $50 back. We don’t “fill” the container. I was trying to figure out if we could somehow make this work with the deposit schemes, but still very new to Breww.

Any suggestions on how to enable this when people buy a keg (with the normal deposit scheme) and be able to add on the tap?

Hi We hire out equipment for beer festivals etc. Would be great if each piece of equipment could have a unique code just like a cask so that we could have an inventory of hand pulls for instance and these could be scanned onto an invoice just like casks and returned when they come back so we know where they are and who has them. They could also have a category of maintenance in case they come back and need maintenance and therefore are not available for hire again Thanks John

As a workaround, using a container type to fake equipment is discussed over there. I suppose it’s possible to apply a deposit to this container type? I guess you’d have to return the “container” to trigger the deposit refund.

Hi David, Thanks for your comment and @jon-kyme2 for linking to this feature request; I agree that this sounds like the feature you need here. If you could add your vote to this, that would be great! An alternative way to handle this could be to simply create a service product to represent the charge for taps that can be applied to your invoices. Upon the tap’s return, a credit note could be raised, and the charge could be refunded to the customer. Cheers!
