Low stock email alerts when product "available" stock below a set level (including guest beers), similar to stock item reorder reminders

Hi, Can the reorder level on a product be changed to allow a -1 figure.
This would automatically allow us to know what guest beers/ciders have been ordered on a minute by minute basis and make ordering more simple and stock control more efficient of guest products.

Thanks for the suggestion, Simon. Unfortunately, this won’t work as you’re hoping. Guest beers (and any stock item, for that matter) will never ever achieve a minus one stock level as this isn’t an available figure but an in-stock figure.

We do appreciate you suggesting a (hopefully) simple solution to the problem, rather than just the problem, but sadly this won’t solve it. Can you confirm what exactly you’re trying to achieve, and we’ll help find the best solution? Cheers.

We now sell a large range of ciders and guest beers from beer swaps all of which can be pre-ordered.
We can get our deliveries in within 2 days but it is difficult to keep on top of the purchase orders.
It would be really helpful if when an out of stock product was ordered it gave some notification as happens with a stock item falling below a certain level or could automatically be entered into a purchase order.

Thanks, Simon, this makes sense. If I understand it correctly, you don’t intend to keep these products in stock yourself, so need to know that they have been ordered.
