Customer Map Improvements

Hi Breww team,

We’ve recently switched our sales CRM functions to Breww from another software, and our sales reps are struggling with the user interface for Breww’s customer & lead map. There are several things related to mapping that our old software did significantly better than Breww currently does, and we’re hoping some improvements can be made (fortunately Breww does a lot of other things a lot better than our old software, which is why we made the switch).

Here is a summary of the issues we are experiencing, plus some feature suggestions:

  • Zooming/panning:
    • The map should automatically zoom to the current user’s physical location, at an appropriate magnification.
    • Sometimes Breww’s map will randomly zoom all the way out to see the entire world map, which obviously isn’t particularly useful.
    • When clicking off of a lead or customer, the map will pan/zoom to a “default” view, not to the view that the user was currently on. This causes the user to have to spend extra time to re-focus the map back to where it was.
  • Extra clutter on the map is hard to deal with sometimes. There are a lot of businesses shown on the map that we would never sell to, but they often get in the way when we are trying to click on our current leads or customers to select them.
  • There is a lot of scrolling required on the mobile app. Seems like maybe there could be a more streamlined interface dedicated for mobile devices.
  • There is a lot of opportunity to use icon colours and shapes to make them more informative. In our old CRM, the map used these icon shapes & colours to depict key information:
    • Circles were “on-premise” accounts, and triangles were “off-premise” accounts.
    • Green icons meant that the account had been visited in the last 30 days.
    • Red icons meant that the account had ordered before, but not been visited in the last 30 days.
    • Purple icons were “leads”
  • In general, key information for accounts could really be more integrated into the map.

Mapping is actually super important for our sales reps – they are constantly using it to plan their day and see where the “holes” are – which accounts need attention etc. Improvements here would be well worth the time and effort, in our opinion.

One of our reps made screen recordings to show mapping in our old CRM compared to the same functions in Breww. I will share these with you via a support ticket (to protect private account info)

Thanks!
Dave

Mapping is one of the only things I feel I am being held back a bit with using Breww. I am loving the functionality of almost everything else I need to use on a day to day basis but I find myself struggling with this map. It helps me plan out my days and also helps me find out accounts that I could visit when I am in a new area and less familiar with my surroundings.

All of what Dave is requesting would be a massive, massive help!

add to that when you have a cluster of leads or clients (that we loaded) that can end up with a number and no ability to zoom further. as an example, if we have two or three venues in a centre, the user will see a circle with 2 or 3 and no ability to drill further.

We’d also really appreciate these updates, as well as the ability to search by name within maps to add leads! (Can’t tell if that is already possible—would be great because of the autopopulation features)

‘+ 1 for these update requests.

I’d also like to add a request to expose a map link that we can embed on our website that shows where our customers are, based on a set of rules / filters that we can set within breww. We would put this map on our website on the “where you can find our beer” page and this would prevent us from having to update the information in 2 different places. Useful filters include

  • Customer type (ie bar vs shop and filter out any customer types we don’t want to show)
  • Additional filters on other fields, including optional fields (might be a “show on public customer map” field)
  • How long since their last delivery (ie only show customers that have had a delivery within the past X weeks)

Thanks for the suggestion, @thomas-allen.

I think you’re looking for Embed a stockists/customer map on own website instead. Could you please make sure you vote for that thread, as this thread would not cover the functionality that you’re describing. Thank you

I mean… You’re not wrong…

Lots of good changes lately with the app but this is a fix that would be really useful to our reps
