This propably won’t happen this year but as we will be raising our pricing first thing next year and it would be nice to be able to schedule in a bulk pricing update, so you can activate it with one click of a button or even schedule it in.
If it would als update the prices of the pending orders that would be even more excellent.
Well, we can update a “live” price book by a percentage / fixed amount across the board (or a subset of products). I think? But if you’ve got more complicated price changes, that’s liable to involve a few steps.
Currently, I think the best we can do (as you’ve probably figured out) is: create a new price book, but inactive, with the new prices. Get someone very senior to approve it 
. Then, come the day, make the current price book inactive, and pick the new book as a replacement? It’s a few clicks. Maybe there’s an easier way.
But I don’t think this updates pending orders, automatically, that’s another couple of clicks - “Recalculate prices on all outstanding orders”, is it?
Interesting work around. But this price book does not change the prices on product level, right?
Also I would need to change all the derived price books?
I think the new one just becomes your current price book. Everything changes.
Except for outstanding orders, but there’s a separate step to update these.
Derived pricebooks inherit live, I think. I may be wrong. It’s been a while. But I suspect you may need to go to each of those to update orders using them? Or do you?
I hope your price books are less of a mess than some I’ve seen. 
The new price book needs to be “active” (but not necessarily used by any customers) before you can select it when making your superseded price book inactive. Of course. Apologies for bum steer / missing step.
You’re right though. There should be a simpler way of doing this.
It’s possible to bulk change prices with an import from a spreadsheet. I’m sorry that it wasn’t noticed before that this thread is a duplicate of Update price book prices in bulk and so was missed from that announcement.
You can’t schedule the price increase, but you can prepare the price changes in a spreadsheet and apply them all at once.
