Breww > Mailchimp Integration - avoiding multiple audiences & using tags instead

Hi all,

We’re currently syncing Breww with Mailchimp, but running into the issue of ending up with multiple lists/audiences in Mailchimp, which is messy and over-complicated from an automation and reporting point of view.

Ideally, we’d like to:

  • Avoid having multiple lists/audiences wherever possible

  • Keep one main audience in Mailchimp and segment with tags

  • Take customer information from Breww and translate this into tags or segments within Mailchimp

  • Use those tags/segments to run more targeted campaigns (e.g. inactivity, new customers, customer types, reorder cadence, etc.)

At the moment, the list-based sync is working functionally, but it feels like it won’t scale well as our customer base grows.

A few questions for those who’ve been through this:

  1. Has anyone successfully structured Breww to Mailchimp in a way that avoids multiple audiences and uses tags/segments instead?

  2. Has anyone used middleware to map Breww data into Mailchimp tags or fields?

  3. Has anyone moved from Mailchimp to Klaviyo for this reason, and found it worked better with Breww data and segmentation?

We’re launching shortly and trying to build this properly from the start rather than fixing it later, so any examples of setups that have worked well would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
