Batch pre-allocation and inventory log

When pre-allocating stock to a planned brew, the stock is taken out of stock and assigned to the batch properly, but when viewing the inventory log of that particular stock item, it does not show which batch of beer it has been allocated to, making stock traceability harder.
If the batch is allocated once the batch has been started it does show the batch that it has been allocated to in the inventory log of that particular stock item.
this would be a really useful addition, please.

Thanks for the suggestion, Tim.

Batches don’t get their batch number assigned until they’re started. For this reason, there isn’t a batch number to include in the pre-allocation log message. If you have set a “Batch reference” manually, this will already be included in the log message.

We could look to include the planned start date of the batch in the log message, if that would be helpful? Or do you have any suggestions of what to actually put in the log message to help you identify the batch?

Would it be possible for the assigned batch code to be added to the message once it has been allocated to the batch?
I am currently using the batch reference workaround, but it’s not a perfect solution.
Planned start date would definitely be an improvement, but having the batch code show up once it has been allocated would be a massive help.

thanks

Thanks Tim. We’ve been able to add the planned start date to the log message now :tada: We’ve also been able to add a link back to the batch, and in such a way that the log message will be updated to show the actual batch number once the batch is started.

We hope this is useful. Please do note that this will only apply to log messages added from now on :+1:
