Automatically Add Cardboard Stock Item To New Products

Hey folks,

Apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere.

I was wondering if it was possible to set up that when creating a new 24 x 440ml product, or 12 x 440..etc etc. That we could automatically assign the correct “Cardboard Box”, “Case Label” to that product type?

Instead of having to go through new products and add them manually. Ideally, it would work like how we have the Single Can container, where the can, label, and end can be added automatically.

Or an option to create a 24 x 440ml as an overall container type?

Thanks,

James

Thanks for the great suggestion, James.

Coincidentally, we’ve been working on a Smallpack Packaging Formats feature that’s close to completion and should introduce this functionality for you. I’ll update you here once that’s live. Cheers!

Cheers Luke, thanks very much for the update.

In which that means, a packaging to package packagings? Which then would be related to the multi unit product? And then would help with the material resource planning processes? Nice!

Great news - we’re excited to announce the release of Smallpack packaging formats :tada:

This new feature allows you to define the stock item components to use when creating mixed/multipacks. Prior to now, you could specify stock items on the container type, for example, an empty can and a can lid, but this was limited to a quantity-per-container and didn’t allow for packaging items, such as a box, where you need one per 24 cans. We still recommend using that process, where you need a per-container quantity, but you can now specify the box-style components by using a Smallpack packaging format.

For more on this exciting update, please see the Smallpack packaging formats help document.
