Add a setting to automatically update the planned invoice date to today’s date if the originally planned date has passed

Hi,

This is a bit specific, but in the current way of handling/registering orders it is very easy to end up in at the beginning of a new month with a whole range of draft orders that are stuck in the previous month. Whether this due to human error (forgetting to adjust the date when creating the order), delayed orders or whatever. This influences the dashboard quite a bit as on the first of the new month the draft orders of the month are incorrect.

In order to change this, you basically you have to manually adjust all the orders in order for them to show up as drafts for the next month.

Not sure what a good soilution would be though as you don’t want to auto-adjust orders that are scheduled on the correct date - maybe to auto update all draft orders that are still on a historical date or something?

Thanks for the comment, Gijs.

I’m not sure what exactly the best approach is here, but hopefully others in a similar situation can help put together some ideas.

As this isn’t an actionable feature request at the moment, I’ve moved it to the help section of the community in order to keep it open for conversation. If a specific idea for a feature emerges, we can move it back to the feature requests area to pick up votes and be tracked through to implementation.

Cheers.

It could be actionable. by moving all orders from historical dates along

Hi Gijs,

Could you share an example to help clarify? Are you looking for all draft orders with a delivery date scheduled for the previous month to be automatically moved forward? Or is it a similar concept, but based on the invoice due date instead?

If you could walk us through an example, it would really help us better understand what you’d like Breww to do to resolve this for you.

Hi connor,

An example:

We get an order on 23/11 and punch it into breww - it gets the Planned invoice date of “23/11”. However the delivery is not yet set, and turns out it is pushed forward with an indefinite date in december. When december comes around this draft order is still registered as planned to be invoiced in november - this is incorrect as it can’t happen any more.

This might seem small peanuts but with multiple small orders and in order to have a good overview of the draft order amount pending for that month we now have have to manually/mentally add the amount of these lingering november drafts to what is pending in december

Currently this can only be changed by either manually change the planned invoice date on all november drafts or set a specific delivery date (changing the planned invoice date of the order) - but this is frankly an annoying little task.

If the planned invoice date can be move along (and/or is not fixed in the way it now is) this would mean that all drafts would automatically move to december on december first - meaning that on dec. 1st the amount on the dashboard for pending sales for december is immediately correct.

does this make sense?

Hi Gijs,

That makes perfect sense! I’ve reverted this to a feature request for you and updated the title to more specifically reflect the functionality I think you are requesting, but please let me know if I have misunderstood at all.
