Hi,
Is there a way to be able to accurately track the cost of yeast? I currently have to predict when starting the yeast batch, as to how many brew that yeast will be used for. However, due to schedule changes, it is often the case that I can use the yeast either more or less than this prediction, which affects the cost applied across batches.
Cheers,
Ben
Hi Ben, Thanks for your comment, and welcome to the community. When you create a yeast batch, you can add a yeast stock item, as you have suggested, and enter a figure into the Over how many beer batches would you like the stock item’s cost distributed? box. To handle the scenario you have described, then once you have finished using the yeast batch, you could head to Production → View → Yeast/ingredient batches → View → All batches, and select to view the batch. You could then select Purchased stock items used and adjust the Over how many beer batches would you like the stock item’s cost distributed? figure to reflect the actual amount of batches it was used on, which will re-calculate your costs on your beer batches. I hope this helps and let me know if you need anything else. Cheers!
