Testing calculated field formulas for Recipes

There does’t seem to be any way to test that the formulas/calculated fields on the recipe/brewing sheets to confirm they work. The only way I can find to do this is by having to actually start a batch and test them through that but even then it is hard to troubleshoot.
The other problem regarding the calculated fields is that they don’t seem to let you use calculated fields within calculated fields (or at least I can’t get it to work). e.g. I have a calulation set up to determine the post-boil volume, that will then be used to calculate the liquorback to hit a new gravity. I then may want to use the calculated post liquorback volume to calculate my acidification.

Thanks for the great suggestion, Christopher. Please don’t forget to vote for it, as every vote counts :+1: For more on how we handle feature requests, please see 💡 Posting ideas & feature requests for Breww 💙

This should already be possible. If you’re having trouble with it, please post a question in the Help & advice section, and one of the support team should be able to assist you. Thank you.

I’m setting up Breww and having the same problem. I’ve had to do a pretend brew to test the calculation, which is time-consuming. Then undo it so it isn’t counted as an actual brew. My calculation has a bug in it yet I can’t edit it, as the ‘formula has been used on a live batch’, so I have to make sure all test brews are completely undone.

I’d highly recommend giving this a vote, Phil, as that’s what will move it up the priority list.
