Stock Item Value of Items in Stock

I exported a list from the Stock Items page. The spreadsheet includes the units in the Qty in Stock column.

This prevents using that value in a new formula in a new column. Specifically “Qty in Stock * Average cost of current stock per unit”

Can you either remove the units from the Qty in Stock column so that I can add my own calculations OR add a new Column for “Value of Current Stock” (“Qty in Stock * Average cost of current stock per unit”)

Would also be nice to have that calculated value on the Stock Items page

PS yes I know how to split a column in excel.

Have you seen the stock valuation tool at Reporting → Pre-build Production & inventory reports → Stock valuation? It’s intended for exactly this purpose.

I looked at that report.
I don’t understand why the products reported in the “report” don’t match the “Products available” in the products area.

For example, in my “Products Available” report (viewed today) there is one line item for 79 16oz cans of one brand.

In the Stock Valuation downloaded spreadsheet (created today) there are two lines for cans (41+38=79) for the same brand.

Is this because they were packaged from separate rackings?

Other things:

  • there is no column for Units in the spreadsheet
  • The WIP batches don’t include the beer name

Yes, that’s right. Separate rackings may result in varying valutaions for the same product (e.g. if actions were done between the first and second racking that changed cost of producing the batch) which is why they are split like this.

If you’d like to open a feature request for these, we could look at adding the improvements for you. Cheers.
