It would be useful to “hide” products on price books.
(I’m guessing the product picker on the sales screen is populated from the price book?)
There are a number of scenarios where this might be handy, and make the job of selecting products for an order easier and less error prone, for example:
Certain customers (customer types) might only be sensibly served with certain products - shops might only want small pack.
Certain (exclusive) products might only be available to particular customers.
Products may be created for purposes other than typical sales - e.g. (but not limited to) faking supplier returns. These products clutter up the price books / product picker for regular customer sales.
Currently, products can be hidden from “from customer-facing features like the Trade Store and customer price lists”, but they’re still selectable on an order, which is confusing in some circumstances.
