The way we operate, having a core range of products and special/seasonal products, it would be far better to have the ability to prevent special/seasonal products from being added to orders when they are out of stock. However it is still very useful for the core range of products to still be able to add to orders when they are not in stock.
Similarly, stock item products would be very useful to prevent adding to an order when out of stock.
As a side note for special/seasonal products, it would be great to be able to add the product to orders (pre-sell/reserve) when there is a planned packaging in place, but after packaging is completed it would revert to not being added to order when out of stock.
As it stands we have to live with anything being able to add to an order even when out of stock, because we must be able to do this for the core range.
Hopefully this makes sense.
Please let me know if there is some way of doing this already that I haven’t been able to find.
