Order discount based on total value

Hi guys,

We offer discounts to some customers based on the whole invoice value. Is there a way to build this feature as we currently have to do it line by line?

Thanks for the suggestion, and welcome to the community!

Currently, you can add an adjustment/discount amount via the button outlined below. Would you find it helpful if you could enter a percentage of the current total order value here? This adjustment would then show the actual value increased/decreased (not the percentage) on the invoice, and unfortunately wouldn’t be able to be automatically updated if the product lines were changed, you’d have to redo the adjustment.

As another idea, would you find it useful to be able to set banded, invoice-level discounts as part of a price book, applied after any product-level price differences in the price book? So you could say all orders using this price book over £100 get an additional 5% off the total order price, over £200 gets an additional 10%. This would then be able to provide an automatic invoice-level discount to set customers.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Hi Matt,

Currently the way we do it is that we go through each line on the invoice, go to edit item, and apply the discount as a percentage this way. Ideally, if there was a way you could add a % column to the overall invoice adjustments box that would be very helpful, even if it wasn’t able to be changed. However, your other option may work as we have different rates for different customers so bespoke discounts per price book may be the best way to do it.

A discount rule triggered automatically by the total invoice value would be fantastic.

I’m just linking two threads together here as this could work well with Price books loyalty discount - Buy X get one free deal across multiple orders as they’re both related to looking at all products on an order as a whole (and possibly in context with other orders from a customer) and applying a discount.

It would be really useful to be able to add a full invoice discount as we have some customers that are on the standard price book who will have large events and who we would like to be able to offer a % discount to. At the moment adding them line by line to large invoices is a pain and it would be much more efficient if we could just click 15% discount to total invoice. Thanks
