This could well be a workable idea. Having said this, we also have Improved management of pre-orders and reservations open. I think it would probably be better on balance for Breww to have a full understanding of a “pre-order” that needs stock allocation but isn’t yet an order (which isn’t that different from a “Draft” order at the moment), rather than “faking this” via a site setting.
What do you think? I’m considering closing this in favour of better pre-orders on the other thread that I’ve linked to. How do you feel about this? Or are there other good reasons to add this setting that wouldn’t be solved by a better pre-order system?
