Data upload price books (import prices from a spreadsheet)

Is it possible to have an upload functionality so we can update pricing in a spreadsheet then do an upload into Breww?

Currently my understanding is if you are not increasing all prices by a set percentage you have to edit each product in each price book manually.

Definitely. We don’t find the pricing models work for some of our customers so the ability to just do whatever we want, in a spreadsheet or via the API would be much better.

We’re happy to look at this feature, don’t worry, but I just wanted to point out that this does come with a downside - you have to manually calculate and set your prices for every base price book, every time you create a new product. If you have 15 price books (which isn’t that uncommon), this could be very time-consuming. Whereas, with the rules, it’s done automatically and you hopefully only have to enter one or two prices for your base price books.

Regardless, we’re still happy to look at this feature request as it picks up votes. We know it’s important, and despite encouraging you to use rules where possible, we know the rules can’t always cover all situations.

Hey Luke, this would be a very handy tool for our brewery. We can’t really use the automated rules the way the are currently (we’d need more options for input criteria & decision logic). Excel is made for this kind of thing and if you could expose price list fields on the product updater tool, that would solve some issues.
I do understand that this would be a lot of extra columns in the csv file for some breweries that have a lot of price lists, so I’m not sure what to do about that. For us, it would be very helpful.

Hey Luke, just as a follow-up to this - I just updated an entire price book manually, keying it in by hand. Not too fun and I’m sure there could be mistakes… just over 200 products. I’ll have to do this for each of our (non-AGLC) price books, which would be minor as a one-time thing, but I’m worried that this will need to be a fairly regular maintenance item. I’m kinda cranky about it right now but I’m sure by tomorrow it won’t seem quite as important… until next time I have to do it  Anyway, just a bump in support of this feature request. Thanks,
Dave

Hi Breww,
I also support this feature request.
I need to update individual price books and we have hundreds of products within the price book so manually updating this is going to be extremelly time-consuming and likely to encounter several errors if done manually.

I love the automated rules etc. but as above, this isn’t applicable for all of our pricing and we have different rates etc. so we use excel externally - I too would like to bulk update using a csv file.

Thanks
Shaun

Hi Breww

I cannot believe this feature is not supported! Complete madness!

Manually having to edit each product to change the price takes many many hours when you have a lot of products over multiple packaging types. It is more error prone than editing an exported SS too

Automated rules are great if you just want to increases all prices by 3% etc but many do not want to do that.

Thanks

Kev.

'Tis the season for price increases, and to help you apply these in Breww, you can now import updated product prices from a spreadsheet (CSV or Excel file) :tada:

Please see the Can I change product prices in bulk? help guide for how.

Hi Luke. I’ve just attempted to do an upload of our new prices through the excel upload tool, but i’m getting an “internal server error”. Could you have look at solving this?

I’m sorry you’ve had a problem here, Remi.

Could you please open a support ticket, let us know which price book you’re updating and attach the file that you’re uploading to the ticket so we can investigate this for you?

Cheers.

Done!
