If a stock component, which is assigned to a Container type is used in all (hundreds!) of Products except for just one or two, could an option be added to Toggle Off/On the stock items which are usually assigned as components?
At the moment the only way to manage this is to remove the standard stock item from the container and add it to every individual product from new.
We have a new unique keg collar which we plan to use just for our one best-seller, but every other keg will remain with the same standard keg collar. To implement this on Breww I would need to add the standard component collar individually to every new product (and also initially now, remove it from the container type, and go back and add it back individually at the product level to every keg that needs it!). I’d like the standard to be just a default, but have the option to turn it off when I don’t need it.
We have the exact same situation. Flagship beer gets a special collar, but all other kegs get the generic one. Right now it’s not worth the headache to assign the keg collar to each individual product, so we auto assign the generic one and don’t track stock of the unique collar.
Thanks for the great suggestion. Fortunately, this wasn’t too complex to create a solution behind the scenes, so I’m pleased to announce that this has been implemented
When creating/editing products, you should see a new Ignore container type default stock items option. If you enable this, the container type’s defaults will not be inherited by the product, and only the stock items assigned directly to the product will be used.
