Add beer name field to raw data explorer

It would be great to have the option to add a “beer name” field to raw data sales reports, to allow us to report on total volume of each beer brand sold vs the other metrics available in those reports.

Thanks for the suggestion, Oliver.

Would this be to get from the Product data to the beer? If so, the difficulty is that a product might not relate to just one beer (e.g. a mixed pack), but we could probably add the beer for all single-beer products at least.

Hi Luke,

That makes sense. What I really want to be able to do is report on how different brands are sold and see how volume, revenue and margin is shared across customer type and also packaging type.

If we were able to have a report that was able to split a total sales figure for a beer over a given period between customer type (we tag for on trade, off trade etc) and/or packaging types (keg vs can) I don’t think we’d need to feature product in the list.

Either that, or the mixed pack could return a string of beer names relating to mixed pack products, as opposed to just one?

I need to report beer by brand to CT. Right now I am using a REGEX on the product name to pull the brand out in my reports, but that’s fragile if somebody screws up the naming convention on the product types. Having his directly available as a join off Invoice → Product → Beer → Name would be great.

Apologies for not updating this thread before, but this was implemented a while back as the Only Beer field, and is available on all products that only have one beer (i.e. not mixed packs, stock items, or service products). Thank you.
