Raw Data Explorer options for aggregating (calculations), grouping & sorting results

This feature request is to add some new features to the Raw Data Explorer, namely:

  • Aggregating (calculations): For example, average, sum, row count, etc.
  • Grouping: For example, grouping the “Products sold (order lines)” report to give one row per order. This would work well with aggregating/calculations.
  • Sorting: Choose your own order for the results to show.
  • Filtering on Aggregating/calculations: For example, if you group rows in the order lines report by order, you could filter to show just orders with a total product quantity of more than 5.
  • Possible bonus feature: Aggregating (with calculations using multiple fields): For example, quantity_dispatched - quantity_returned on the Products sold report. This may not make it into the first version of this feature, but it’s worth considering when we make the final preparations for this build, so I wanted to note it here too.

I’m merging in below here a thread on sorting results in the Raw Data Explorer. This will ensure the votes are transferred to this thread.

If anyone else would like to see these improvements to the Raw Data Explorer, please give this thread a vote.

It would be very useful to sort data when pulling reports via the Raw Data explorer, like one can do in other reports. Often, the report has everything I want to see but isn’t sortable, so I have to export to a spreadsheet just to sort data that’s already on the screen.

We’re delighted to announce a major update to the Raw Data Explorer :tada:

Today we’ve added:

  • Group by functionality - Group report results by selected fields
  • Aggregation mode - Apply calculations (Sum, Average, Min, Max, Count, Count distinct, Concatenate, etc) to fields
  • Sortable results - Sort directly in Breww without exporting to Excel
