I already have a beer set as derived in vessel for two beers which works well, but when we don’t have it available in tank we derive it at packaging by putting half of each base beer into the firkin, how am I able to do this on Breww?
Hi Scott, Thanks for your comment. Apologies - would it be okay if I just checked that when you say “when we don’t have it available in tank we derive it at packaging by putting half of each base beer into the firkin”; are you saying you have two separate vessels filled with two different beers and you then fill half of the firkin from one, and then half from the other? Or are the firkins already packaged as two separate beers, and you are then racking from these? If you could just clarify this, that would be great! Cheers.
Hi Ben,
Yes we will fill the firkin from two separate tanks with two different beers and fill the firkin with half and half.
Thanks
Hi Scott, Thanks for your reply and for confirming this. In this scenario, I would suggest creating a ‘virtual’ holding vessel in Breww by selecting View → Vessels → New Vessel. When you come to fill the firkin in reality from two separate vessels, you could transfer the required litres from each vessel into the holding vessel you have created in Breww, and turn this into the ‘Derived in vessel’ beer. You will then be able to rack the firkin from the vessel. I hope this helps, and let me know if you need anything else. Cheers!
