The Issue:
It would save my team hours of laborious excel sheet transformation to be able to see what products we sold to our customers and know how the pricing was affected by the price-book tier the customer was on when they bought each product.
Context:
We are in the process of doing our year-on-year price performance analysis, and it’s proving a problem that we can’t easily tell if the current years product prices reflect discounted rates or not. I’m aware that it is possible to extract a report of customers with their associated price-book via the raw data explorer, but there are 2 concerns:
- This adds an extra step of tedium to the process
- It only reflects what price-book rate the customer currently has, not necessarily what rate they had at the time when they bought a product.
Desired Result:
Users have access to a new type of prebuilt sales report that is similar to “Total Sales By Customer By Product”, but with an extra field in the returned data that shows under what price-book customers bought every product.
An example of the returned data would look something like this:
| customer | product | price-book | quantity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Customer A | Beer 1 | bronze | 5 |
| Customer A | Beer 1 | Silver | 10 |
| Customer B | Beer 1 | Silver | 3 |
| Customer B | Beer 2 | Silver | 6 |
