Subtype Merchandise/POS/Packaging and other stock item types

Sorry if this is requested elsewhere, but is it possible to create subtypes to POS and Merchandise so it is easier to separate the two?

These are connected to different accounts in my admin, so i need to separate the valuations. POS is a marketing expense, while merchandise is also a good that is sold.

Thanks for the suggestion. I don’t think this has been requested before, but it’s certainly related to Allow for custom ingredient sub-types, so I’m linking the two together in case it makes sense to build them in conjunction :+1:

I’m closing this in favour of Allow for custom stock item sub-types on all types of stock item so that one can build all the votes. We’ll make sure that other thread covers these requirements.
