Allow printing groups of invoices/delivery notes with blank pages where applicable to allow double-sided printing

, Please could you look at the print settings for deliveries, i would love to be able to print all of the invoices for a van run, however when we try doing this, and printing two sided, we often get one side of paper with one customer and the other side is for another customer. When we have 10 drops for a dray, it gets quite tiresome and is very time consuming to have to print them individually

Thanks for the request, Paul. If I understand you correctly, you need to print one side per page rather than double-sided?

If so, this is a setting on your computer (and completely out of Breww’s control). You should find this in printer settings on your computer, but the exact location will vary depending on if you’re using Windows or a Mac (or something else).

Can you let me know if this solves your problem?

If Paul wants to print double-sided (for invoices that run over more than one page?) Then there’d need to be a breww setting to format the (single?) output pdf appropriately, such that each customer invoice starts on an odd page?

@paul-mellor can you please get back to me on my question above, as I need to better understand this feature request? Is Jon’s suggestion for what you’re looking for correct? Cheers!

Hi Luke
Sorry for lack of reply, I didn’t really undrestand John’s reply.

As the headers and footers are quite wordy, th majority of our invoices print over two sheets. To save paper, we print double sided. The problem occurs when a single page output prints the other side of an A4 sheet with the first page of the next customer’s invoice. Everything goes to hell shortly after. On days when we have a dozen orders going out it is tiresome to have to print each order individually.
Hope that sheds some more light

Sorry @paul-mellor . What I meant is that Breww currently produces these documents (which include multiple invoices) assuming that we’re going to be printing single-sided. If we need to print double-sided, then Breww will have to format the document differently (and intelligently) such that blank pages are inserted as required to force Invoices always to start on an odd page

i.e. when printing double-sided, if the first invoice runs over 3 sides, the second invoice would need to start on page 5, rather than page 4 (since 4 would be the back of the second sheet of the first invoice).

applies similarly to any invoice with an odd number of pages, 1 included,

Thanks, guys; yes, that all makes sense. I’ve renamed this thread to be clearer and hopefully it can pick up some more votes. We do like a paper saving feature!

Hi Luke
thanks for this, although i would call it more of a bug than a feature request, Breww needs to sort these as individual invoices rather than one document

regards

I’m sorry, Paul, but I don’t agree that this is a bug.

You’re opting to use incompatible non-default printer settings and this is the only reason why you’re having problems printing. Breww’s document is valid and normal for how a document like this would be expected. I understand why you would like to print double-sided, but this is still a feature request.

At Breww, we love the planet, so paper-saving features are important for us, and we will make sure we get this request implemented when we can.
