Accountancy reporting

Is there a possibility of implementing some accountancy reporting to enable us to report on inventory and product allocations to the chart of accounts? Currently it seems the only way to check that things are mapped correctly is to go in to each item individually. This would help ensure that invoices that flow through to our accountancy software are mapped correctly without manual adjustment.
