# Set the frequency & type of daily readings required based on the vessel status

Is it possible to set the frequency and type of daily readings required based on the tank status? Currently, it asks for all readings every day but it’s a bit pointless to keep adding readings post-ferment. For instance once the beer is done fermenting and on chill I’d just like temperature and pressure readings to be required.

This would be very useful, along with the ability to turn off specific vessels. Our BBTs in our Tap Room become serving vessels at the appropriate time, and I’d like to shut off the reminders on them at this point.

This would be helpful for training new employees as well. Daily readings is a fairly simple task that most people around the brewery should be able to carry out, even if they are not yet up to speed with fermentations and how they work for each beer/tank. An auto-generated designated list of only specific tanks in fermentation that need readings would simplify this task even further. In one of our buildings, we have about 20 BBT/Serving tanks. That list gets messy with that many tanks on there, especially when at that stage, daily readings are trivial.

Good news, this is now live in Breww 🎉

Batch readings have had a big update. Readings are recorded against the vessel they were taken in, and a set of rules decides which readings each vessel needs and how often. You can vary the frequency by vessel type, status, age or day of the week, use a different reading form depending on the vessel, and switch readings off entirely where they aren’t needed. There’s also a new Batch readings tab on the production dashboard showing what’s due, overdue or done for every filled vessel.

We’ve added a dozen new readings too, including ABV, apparent and real extract, residual sugar, free and total SO₂, malic and lactic acid, volatile acidity, YAN, cell viability and total package oxygen, along with units such as Baumé, Oechsle, Lovibond, kPa and ppm. If we still don’t have what you measure, you can now create your own custom readings and choose the unit and precision yourself.
