Can we please have more map/area functionality for route & delivery area handling?
Currently drawing areas is difficult especially if trying to create multiple areas. When editing they don’t overlay so you have no idea if you’re drawing over another area or not. You then have to click out to see if you’ve left any gaps or completely encroached on another delivery area.
Also the ability to import postcodes would be great!
How it could work
Map/areas to be drawn on one page and all areas magnetically butt up to one so you know you’ve captured every pixel of the map and havn’t covered any territory twice. Then you could click on the map drawn and ‘assign’ it to an area with the additional set perameters days/ vehicles assigned etc…
Postcodes: You could load in blanket postcodes covered on certain days. i.e rather than drawing a map you could say Mon/Tue SE1- SE19, N1-N15 etc.. This would make scheduling much better.
Other areas should already be shown on the map when you’re creating/editing an area. They don’t “magnetically butt up” to each other, but you should be able to see where others areas are when you’re drawing one. If you can’t, can you please open a support ticket with an example of where this isn’t happening so that we can look into why?
You can already build a delivery area by using postcodes (you can’t do SE1- SE19, but you can do SE1, SE2, SE3…). When creating/editing a delivery area, you can choose “Type” of “UK postcodes” instead of the default of “Area drawn on map”.
Can you let me know if I can close this feature request, or if there is more needed here? Thank you.
Thanks for the clarity - I figured out you need to have them all ‘enabled’ to be able to see them when creating the areas otherwise it won’t show up. We will give the postcodes a go! Thanks
