It would be useful to be able to enter a reference when issuing a credit memo and have that reference flow to the reference field in Xero. As it stands today, I need to create the credit memo in Breww, wait for it to get synced to Xero and then go into Xero and edit the Credit Memo and update the reference field. This is important to us because we use the reference field to keep bill backs straight with our distributor. An example, when they return empty keg shells, they issue an invoice for the deposit we took on them. We then create a counter Credit Memo for that invoice and enter their invoice number on the reference field so that when they receive the Credit Memo, they can match it up to their invoice. This same process is used for any returned goods. ---

Hello. As we start to bring our larger wholesale/distributor business into Breww, we are noticing there is nowhere to put a credit reference number from the distributor into the credit note that we issue. This means there’s no great way to search or sort on that, other than writing it into one of the line item distributions (which is not a structured field). This is used for distributor allowances for things like samples, discounts, etc. that are charged back to us. We do need an easy way to know which credit note is issued in response to the customer’s request. A field, right below “Original invoice number” on the New Credit Note field seems like it would be easy to add and would solve this quickly (particularly if you made it a field we could select in reports/searches!) Together they have 10 votes. It’s causing us some additional heartburn as we have another large distributor that we need to track their credit memos against in a more structure way…any chance you could merge these together and maybe get it on the roadmap? ---

Wellll…still 8 votes for something that seems pretty lightweight! I appreciate @christopher-tkach’s desire to have more integration from Xero back into Breww, but for the moment we have given up on that and just created a bunch of service products that track non-production-related credits (he is dealing with the exact same issue we are). Not ideal, but if you at least got a reference field in you’d remove a lot of extra back and forth when we try to match up the Breww number with whatever got pushed into Xero (as well as double-check the credit applications that our distributors take). Good news, this is actually in the current development cycle! We don’t always work through requests in strict vote order, as the complexity and scope of features varies quite a bit, but this one is on its way. We’ll update this thread when it’s ready. Thanks for your patience and for voting! ---
