Event season is here and this feature really would help. We are currently using the Tasks feature and putting a task against an order for equipment to track who has it and when it’s due back. This is a make-do work around but I do think the general Breww community would really like this feature to be developed now.

Just added a vote to this request. We have only just started using Breww, and this feature is key for us. We use reusable crates for all our local customers, and tracking them manually is a real chore. Having it integrated into Breww would be amazing, and it’s one of the deciding factors for if we continue to use the platform, especially as it’s a feature other platforms already have. Any updates, or even just confirmation that it’s being worked on, would be very helpful.

I’m afraid we’ve not started work on this request yet, but it has lots of votes, so it will certainly be coming to Breww in the future
Just to clarify here, we don’t need the full feature set some are discussing, we are simply looking to track deposits for Retail Taps. Not sure if we could physically attach a bar code to them (maybe a waterproof tag attached?) but we’d ideally scan them in and out like any other piece of equipment, with the option to have both a usage charge and a deposit, depending on whatever business logic we want.

We would love to have this feature. We put equipment in many bars and restaurants, or sometimes rent them as well. We would love to have track of them, being able to assign one piece of equipment to a customer and track properly. As said, when receiving, being able to do maintenance on them.

Thinking of setting up a Guest Beer to fill the kegs, to keep it really separate from our ‘real’ beer.

Echoing the statement here about how it would be brilliant to have this feature implemented, suggested back in 2021.
Presumably there isn’t a means of creating a product that isn’t beer/duty related in Breww?

You might be able to use Service Products to help with this as they’re not beer/duty related.
Would love this kind of feature as well, specifically for being able to track returnable crates with 24 bottles (the ones generally in use by larger breweries). The crates should be stock items that will automatically be added to an order when selecting a product. The deposits could be tracked just like the deposits on containers.

Would like to place a vote for this not sure how to go a bout this.
We would be looking to have access to:
- Add these items to Breww with a £0 charge, unless they are damaged or not returned.
- Have them appear on customer invoices as FOC, but still show their cost price for reference (to highlight potential charges for loss/damage).
- Manage stock levels as we do with our products — for example, if we have 4 stillages and 2 go out on loan, the system would show 2 remaining.
- Be able to “accept returns” into stock when equipment is returned.
- Have the ability to amend the invoice after the event if charges need to be applied (e.g. for missing/damaged items).
You can set up the FOC but still show the price through a price book discount rule. We have all our POS items set up this way, so that the price of the item is shown, but 100% discount is applied.
If I remember correctly, on each price book, you can add a discount rule based purely on the category of product, in this case ‘Stock Items’, and use a simple 100% discount. Works really well.
Just adding a tickler here, and one more thought.
When taking deposits, for these items, that deposit would normally be tracked against a liability account on the balance sheet. With our current workaround, we are using an inventory item which has the revenue tied to the balance sheet account.
Unfortunately, if you have a customer-level or customer-type level override in place for the revenue account, it puts the inventory item deposit into the P&L account (ignoring the underlying item account). At the moment, there is no workaround for this (something is broken no matter how you configure things).
Hopefully this gets into the work queue soon! It has a lot votes.

Another vote for this feature, it would be great to more easily assign and track our handpulls, etc via integration with Breww.
