Distinction between when the beer is ready for sales team and release date

Hi,

With the new and improved trade store (Great!) we are running into an problem where we want a packaged beer to be in stock for our sales team to take (pre)orders for but we want it to be shown in the trade store as being available on a specific date in the future.

Currently the only option is to retract the entire product from the stock, but then the amounts disappear for our sales team as well.

Any thoughts?

Hiya - It should already do this if you have a planned packaging date set for the product. It certainly does for us.

Yes, you can put that in planned packaging - that is not my issue.

But once the product is racked it is either in stock or on hold with a release date - in the later case it doesn’t show up for the sales team. or am I missing something.

We are often selling beer that has not been released yet but is packaged, so it is good to keep track those numbers.

I think delayed releases can already do what you need, as long as the order is forward-dated.

Breww treats delayed release stock as expected to be available on its scheduled release date. So if your sales team put a delivery date on or after that date, the beer counts as available, and they can take the pre-order now. Anything dated earlier still shows as unavailable, which is what you’d want.

Worth checking Settings → Products has “Available stock to check planned packagings & delayed release stock” enabled - it’s on by default, and it’s the bit that makes Breww look at the order’s delivery date.

The trade store works off current stock, so customers won’t see it until it’s actually released. That should give you the split you’re after. (If you’d like it showing there a bit early too, there’s a “display available stock level as if X days in advance” option in your trade store settings and per product.)

Can you give it a try and let us know if that does the trick?
