As this is country specific, I thought to start the discussion here - can move to feature requests later.
The registering of the can deposits in NL is a huge hassle popping up every 4/5 weeks - mostly because the official system is quite archaic and inflexible - but the Breww system/report is not always helping us navigate it. As this is a system that only costs us time/resources (the gains are minimal) - you would do dutch brewers a huge favour if you find good ways to make this less labour intensive.
Basically I see three ways in which Breww could improve the Dutch brewers experience of the deposit scheme.
On the Breww side of things there are two features lacking resulting in manual adjustments needed to properly report the deposits:
Deposits currently cannot be credited alongside returned products.
Mix packs are not broken down in the report over the elements of the mix pack.
Breww could allow for a smoother integration of the scheme:
In their infinite wisdom the dutch system decided on a peculiar week number based reporting (4-4-5 weeks every quarter ). It would be great if these can be preformatted.
They allow for csv upload but in a very specifc model, it would be great if we could pull out of Breww
How Breww to make our lives even better:
A reminder in Breww that deposits are due as the archaic system still doesn’t want to send out email reminders
An automaticlly generated report (same as stock valuation) - Only possible if the numbers are all correct.

What I’d suggest is splitting some of these ideas into a few requests. Where a request isn’t necessarily NL-specific, I’d post it as a separate request as a user in any country might find it useful and vote for it, such as your first two bullet points - these could be two separate requests.
The email reminders idea could also be a separate, non-country-specific request as well. The others are probably NL-specific, so I’d suggest posting those parts as one single request for general improvements to container deposits for NL.

These sorts of reporting might have to happen at the level of the container or packaging?
Semantically speaking, the deposits are related to the container (read: can, bottle). Given that it’s known for each single product / pack / product’s component what the packaging shape is, defining reporting for tax purposes over there could be the way to go.
My apologies, you are, of course, quite right. Unfortunately, the report is still a by-product report, meaning everything is reported again by-product, and it sounds to me as though what you are looking for is still similar to my above suggestion of a Sales by container type and beer report, but instead, you would need a container deposit by container type and beer report. This will need to be a feature request still, but if you can raise it, I will keep an eye out and link this ticket to it in the background.
