We made a number of batches to test drive using breww before using it in earnest and now I have a bunch of batches that we didn’t really brew and I’d like to delete but can’t figure out how.
We’ve also got batches that were imported using the data importer (our starting product inventory) and had to create batch numbers for that finished product. Between all these figuring out, our View All Batches page is a mess.
So I’d like to standardize the number of units used in a batch number? IE use 5 digits (if you started at batch 1, the batch # would be #00001) So that batch #3 does’t appear next to batch #30 or 300?
Hi Tait, Thanks for your comment! You may be able to delete some of these batches by following the How to destroy, delete or waste a batch help guide. However, this may not work on all of your batches; it is not possible to delete batches with duty entries or beer marked as lost/spoilt, for example. If this is the case, then I recommend heading to the batch and selecting Actions > Edit batch details. You will then be able to give this batch a Prefix so that this batch is clearly marked as being separate from your other batches, for example, a prefix of ‘TEST’. This means that test batches will be clearly marked on your batch list and will not affect your batch sequence. Your batch number suggested by Breww when starting a batch will always follow on from the highest batch number without a prefix in Breww, so updating your test batches to include a prefix will allow your batch numbers to continue in the sequence you need. Let me know if you need anything else! Cheers.
Thanks Ben
What about standardizing the number of digits used for a batch/gyle (ie. Leading zeros, #00319) ?
I bet you’ve thought of this, but why not start at 10001 ?

Hi Tait, Thanks for your reply, and no problem. I’m afraid it isn’t possible to enter leading zeros on batch numbers. Let me know if you need anything else. Cheers!
Oh man - I feel pretty dumb admitting that I hadn’t thought of this. Thank you!
