Hello.

For our cases, we package in 4paks that are sold in cases of 6. That is pretty much working as expected.

However, when we take back a 4pak and issue a credit memo, Breww does not seem to be calculating the correct credit on a 4pak based on the price of the case. Rather, it uses the price of 0 which is what is set in the 4pak product.

I’m not sure we have configured our products correctly - what’s the best way to do this so the person issuing the credit doesn’t have to break out their calculator? Or is this not a feature that’s there?

Are we better off issuing a credit for 1/6th of a case?

Why is the 4pack set to have a price of zero?

We don’t sell it directly to wholesale customers, it’s only part of the construction of a case. It does get sold to retail so there’s a retail price associated with it but not for wholesale, if that helps.

If you never sell anything smaller than a 4pack then I guess it makes sense that this is your “base” product. But if you set up your case product as 6 of those, then you won’t be able to **return** less than an entire case? Am I right? So you shouldn’t be _able_ to return a single 4pack.
There’s a feature request for this:

> [@Returning single items (part returns) of a multipack](https://community.breww.com/t/returning-single-items-part-returns-of-a-multipack/3685):
>
> Currently it is only possible to return a whole multipack instead of the single units inside. It would be really useful if we could return single items of a multipack instead of completing manual stock adjustments in circumstances such as customers with SOR agreements or e-comm customers who return single bottles after purchasing an bundle multipack. Thank you.

Or are you managing the return in some other way?

But as far as the credit note goes, if you had a price for the 4pack on your wholesale pricebook, then that should “just work”. Shouldn’t it?

Hi Jon,

I’m trying to avoid entering prices manually when it should be derived from the sale pack. One could argue whether or not one “should” allow it. When we take back out-of-code beer, it is usually just a leftover 4pak or two, so even though we don’t sell it that way we will credit it back that way.

The more times I ask people to enter data twice, the more likely it is that it will get screwed up. Yes, the current workaround would be to enter a second (or third) set of prices for all of my wholesale price books that are manually calculated, and then remind people not to forget to update the 4pak price (that they don’t sell) if the main price updates.

Just trying to reduce extra work / changes of error.

Sorry David, “should” was maybe the wrong word. Apologies for that.
Breww doesn’t currently **permit** this, I don’t think. i.e. **if** we have a multipack product made up of 6 of the base product, we can’t use Breww’s “ **return** ” mechanism to bring back _some_ (less than 6, here) of the base product. We can only **return** the (sold) multipack product?

Although this is something that has been asked for (FR linked above). There’s also this FR

> [@Return Workflow Improvements. Option to create credit note, stock adjustment or ullage etc](https://community.breww.com/t/return-workflow-improvements-option-to-create-credit-note-stock-adjustment-or-ullage-etc/1742):

> Hi all, We had quite a few COVID returns, ullage and credit notes raised over the past year and wanted to find out we could integrate the different aspects to make it a bit more easy to use. Please let me know if I am doing this wrong. For example. If I wanted to raise a uplift for 1 x container, plus ullage 2 part fills with a credit note. I have to go to the delivery to return to full one, then test to see if I can re-sell, then ullage along side the part fills and then come back out and rai…

I guess that if you’re managing to _return_ a part of this case product, you either don’t have it set as a multiple of the base product, or you’re adjusting stock in some other way?

But currently, the price in your pricebook for a product (even if this is zero) is what Breww will use for a credit note. I think. If you want it to come up as something other than zero I guess you’ll have to put it in.

Hi David, Thanks for your message! I would need to double-check your setup here to be sure of how you are currently handling this in Breww; however, if you have a product in Breww that you are raising a credit note for and the price entered for the product on the price book is $0, then this is what will be used on the credit note. Cheers!

Well, I can’t leave it blank so it gets $0.

I think this has morphed into a feature request - interpolate price for deconstructed cases. I will add it to the Return Workflow improvements.
