Contract Brewing Cost per Unit Assigned at Racking

It would be really useful to automatically assign a cost per unit to contract brewed products on racking, similar to how we attibute a keg collar or a keg (container) cost for example but for a unit cost of one finished keg (or case) - what the contractor charges us per keg.

It would be difficult to have to create a stock item each time, although the ability to inventory receipt it and spread delivery costs would be really useful.

It’s currently quite cumbersome to have to retrospectively assign the contract brewing costs as an ‘other’ cost associated with a particular racking, especially when we may not yet know the delivery cots.

It’s possible we’re taking the wrong approach so please advise if it sounds like this is the case.

Hi Dan, Thanks for your comment. It sounds like this is a similar concept to what has been raised in this feature request: Automatically add packaging costs for racking or 3rd-party off-site packaging fees/charges . This is obviously focusing on contract packaging, but it sounds like this will also cover your scenario here with contract brewing. Currently, the best way to handle this would be by adding a ‘Utility/other cost’ to the racking action. If you would like to see a mechanism added to Breww for this, it would be great if you could add your vote and comments to this feature request! Cheers!
